Wind Waker: Exploring Dragon Roost by MangoSirene Wind Waker: Exploring Dragon Roost by MangoSirene
I updated my Medli costume for Katsucon! I made a new beak (it's a custom latex prosthetic), as well as wings! They are fully articulated to mimic the proper movement of a real bird's wings. These were a huge undertaking, it was my first time constructing anything that dabbled into the area of puppetry, but I'm so pleased with the end result! They worked really well at the con, and most importantly, they didn't break!

The wings were made by adapting =Sunnybrook1's Realistic Wing Tutorial: [link] I ended up making quite a few changes to it, but that's what inspired the basic idea! Definitely check it out if you want to get a general understanding of how my wings were made.

I was also honored to have Rin join me as Link! She was absolutely perfect and I had so much fun getting to cosplay her! (The first of many more in the future!!)

These costumes have been featured in a few Katsucon cosplay videos!

What are the individual feather pieces made of and what connects the feathers to the I'm guessing ribbon? Where'd you get your wig? Also, how was your beak made can you make a tutorial for your wing and/or your beak?

There is information regarding the construction of the wings in the photo description. :) As for the wig, it's from EpicCosplay. My beak was a custom latex cast that I sculpted from clay, cast in plaster, then cast out of latex.

I'm sure someone has asked before about your beautiful shoes- do you have a link to where you explained how you created them? Or a link that taught you how? They're awesome! Heck, the whole cosplay is awesome. HECK, YOU'RE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! :D

All I did was take a pair of stilettos, chop the heels off, then wrap them with yellow vinyl! :)

The beak is a latex cast and is attached with spirit gum! :)

I really enjoyed playing the game (good old memories) :dalove:
I don't know why but I really liked Medli she's such a adorable charackter :meow:
I also thought to Cosplay her but I'm still not sure.

I can't wait to make my Fairy Bird Cosplay (an original charackter I created). She also has arm wings but just smaler because she has too carry a bow and I'm not sure if I can move my arms well if I do them too big.
