I just realized I haven't posted a journal entry on this site since July! Eep! I'm so sorry for being so inactive around deviantART!  (´；ω；`) I'll try to be better about it from now on! (Maybe that should be one of my resolutions for next year...)

Anyway! The main reason for my inactivity is how busy and stressful this semester has been. My classes aren't necessarily difficult, but they've involved a lot of projects and essays that are really time-consuming. Between Youmacon and school, I seriously have fallen behind in tons of internet things! Like replying to messages, both on DA and other sites! So if you've messaged me and you still haven't received a reply, hang in there, I promise I'll get to it once this semester is over!

Other exciting real life stuff:
● My cousin had her first baby this past fall! I'm now an aunt!
● *CourtoonXIII and I just leased our first apartment together. It's not through the dorm or college housing - it's our first "grown-up" place! We start moving in on December 7th! We can't wait, we're so excited! (Especially since this building has an indoor pool!)
● I'm looking to intern with a Chicago wedding company this spring and summer, since with this lease, we'll be sticking around in the city for an extra month or two. Working as a bridal consultant for this past year has been a lot of fun, and I'm excited to start working in the planning/coordinating side of the business. ヽ(*・ω・)ﾉ Yay, pretty things and cake~

But on to actual cosplay stuff!
● We're still getting photos back from Youmacon, so those will be posted slowly but surely! I'm trying very hard not to spam you all, since we did so many fun shoots!
● Next up on our convention schedule is Katsucon in February! It's our first year attending; I'm a little nervous since it'll be my first time going to a con outside of the Midwest, so I'm not sure what to expect!
● The costumes I'll be working on next are Catwoman of Shanghai, Chell from Portal 2, and hopefully finishing up Azula as well! I may have a few other things here and there too. :3

I'm so sorry I've fallen behind on replying to comments, I've been super busy trying to finish my costumes for ColossalCon this weekend! I just finished Medli about an hour ago... I'm not happy with it, but hey, it's done! :'D

Hey all! I'm so, so sorry that I haven't been very active these past few weeks as far as posting deviations goes! Things are getting pretty crazy - between finals and finishing stuff for cons, I've barely had time to sleep!

C2E2 last weekend was amazing. Seriously, it was one of the best convention experiences I've ever had! I'd never been to a true comic con before, and I have to say, it was a totally different experience from an anime con. I can't wait to go to the next one!

Hey everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been super busy!

So, we're at the start of the 2012 con season, and I'm just about dying from excitement! And stress. Because I have two cons this month and I still have so many costumes to finish. But mostly excitement!

Here's what my plans are for both C2E2 next weekend and ACEN at the end of the month~!

C2E2
Our schedule's looking a little messy at this point, but I know for sure I'll be wearing my Miss Martian stealth suit one day, and then probably either Fawn or Ty Lee the other day. Or maybe M'gann's civvies? Not sure what the plan is going to be!

ACEN
Thursday: Yuki Nagato (gym uniform); fox kigurumi
Friday: Princess Bubblegum; Ty Lee (beach outfit)
Saturday: Ty Lee (regular outfit); Stocking (traffic cop)
Sunday: Either Fawn or Rarity, it'll depend if I can finish a new Rarity outfit in time.. but chances are I'm probably just going to have to stick with Fawn!

And after those two cons, we'll also be at ColossalCon and JAFAX this summer! (We may try to go to Otakon, too, but it'll depend on money/if all of us can get that weekend off work.)

Anyway, I'm so pumped for this summer! We've got a ton of awesome costumes planned (I'm personally looking forward to finally making Gunner Yuna~) and even more awesome ones lined up for Youmacon in the fall, so there's definitely a lot to look forward to!

Hey everyone!

Ohayocon was this past weekend! My friends and I had a great time, it felt like the con went WAY too fast though! I can't believe it's already over.

Thursday:
- *CourtoonXIII and I left Chicago at 9 AM, it was a 6 hour bus-ride to Columbus. We got there around 5 PM and our friend Carroll (CKDecember) checked us in to our hotel room.
- Once ~chinasaur and *Solo-dono got there, all of us went on a craaazy adventure to Target and Home Depot to get a few last-minute supplies. It was pouring rain and at one point we got lost on this really sketchy freeway exit. And we were attacked by a zombie ghost beaver.
- We tried running around Columbus to find food, and when I say running, I mean literally. In the pouring rain. Every restaurant was closed by that point so eventually we just went to the con center to hang out.
- Carroll took a few pictures of our casual Bat Family group, it was super fun even though we were just wearing t-shirts and stuff. And then we got yelled at by security because apparently the con center was closed but no one told us ohhh welllll.
- After that, ~Larina-Satome and ~xxrinehartxx came back to our room to hang out and we didn't go to sleep 'till about 3 AM!



Friday:
- ADVENTURE TIIIIIME! I got up at 8 AM to start painting myself, but I probably should've gotten up earlier since it took so long. Brenda and Megan got up a little after that and we all had a grand ol' body paint time while Courtney just got to chill since all she had to do was be a chubby bunny.
- The body paint was really frustrating. I tried using Mehron instead of Kryolan for Bubblegum, which involved mixing pink with white to get a light pink shade. It wouldn't blend properly and it was just not going well. Fortunately it turned out alright in pictures, but our group's decided that we're going to invest in an airbrush machine for the future.
- We finally made it to the con around noon, then we did photoshoots with *xRikku-chanx, LJinto, and Carroll. Our friend *NsomniacArtist let us borrow her Peppermint Butler plushie too!!
- We also did a video shoot with Ackson, you can see his full Ohayocon fan video here: [link] ~Naiiki joined us as LSP and she was lumptastic!
- Eventually Courtney and Megan went to change. Brenda and I just stayed in Marceline and Bubblegum all day since we were having so much fun!
- We took Carroll out to dinner at Max & Erma's, still in cosplay, and our friend Chris came along too! It was awesome because we've always wanted to hang out with him at a con but we never had a chance to until this time around!!
- Finally we went back to the con center and stayed there for a lonnngggg time. I can't remember what time we went back to the hotel... It's all just sort of a blur. @_@



Saturday:
- YOUNG JUSTIIIICE!! I was so excited to wear my Miss Martian stealth suit! I had some issues with it not fitting properly since I ran out of fabric while making the legs, but overall I'm really happy with it! Plus it was SUPER comfy to wear! I didn't even have to wear shoes. 8D
- We did a shoot with LJinto, then we went to the big DC/Marvel gathering. That was probably one of my favorite parts of the con, everyone was just so enthusiastic about it (but not in an obnoxious way like a lot of other fandoms). There was an awesome Jason Todd cosplayer there too!! Be still my fangirl heart! Chris also joined us as Superboy since none of our regular Supeys could make it to the con. He was awesome and even had these perfect aqua contacts!
- We did more photo-takin' with Leonard and Carroll, and just relaxed a little bit. Brenda and I actually got bored enough at one point that we started break-dancing in the hallway. Then I started doing headstands while she was freezing. We coo'.
- Before and after dinner, we filmed some YJ skits! So make sure you're watching the IMT channel for those: [link]
- Eventually I got tired of my body paint and we all went back to the hotel to change. Courtney got into Peeta, Brenda was Wedding Yoko, Megan borrowed my Cheryl costume, and I was Rue. Then we hung out in Leonard's room and took pictures with bread. Yes, you read that right.



Sunday:
- Carroll herp-derp'd and booked the room until Monday, so we didn't have to deal with check-out in the morning! It was so nice!
- We got into our Kingdom Hearts costumes, while Brenda slept in a little since we were up until 3 AM again. I had to style my Kairi wig in the room because I was SUPER PREPARED for this con. 8D
- Met up with Leonard, took more pictures... Yeah, can you see a pattern now?
- The weather started getting pretty bad, so we hit the road around 3 PM to get back to Michigan. Brenda drove and Megan slept on me. And we got in a huge political discussion which was actually really fun!
- We dropped Megan off at her house and it was super sad because I miss her so mu-u-u-u-uuuuch. ;_____;
- Court's mom picked us up from Brenda's, then we went back to Court's house to sleep for a few hours before our bus back to Chicago left the next morning!



Overall it was a lot of fun. The con itself kind of sucks, I'm not gonna lie - none of us bothered to buy a badge or go to any panels or anything like that. But the atmosphere is just so laid-back that we really enjoy going, since we get to actually hang out with people. Most cons we're running back and forth and we never get a chance to just chill with our other friends, so it's nice to be able to do that every now and then! :]

Next up is Animarathon in March! Right now I think it may just be Brenda and me going, since Courtney is going to MLG that weekend, and I'm not sure what Megan's plans are. All I know is I'm glad to have a little break! @_@ Finishing everything for Ohayocon has made me so exhausted!

But it was great getting to meet so many of you at the con! I hope everyone who went had a great time!!

_{SHORTEST JOURNAL EVER. Someone phone the press!}

Sorry for not posting a new journal in like... two months! I've been crazy busy with school! Finals are this week, so I've been rushing to finish all my projects and study, study, study! :busy:

That being said, I did just want to take a few minutes and take care of the usual end-of-the-year business!

{2011 in Review}

This year was so incredible! I've made some of the best cosplay memories I've had yet, met some incredible people, and accomplished a lot of personal goals when it comes to my craftsmanship!

Most Expensive Costume: Odile!Kraehe, for sure. I don't even want to think about how much I spent on that cosplay, eep! But it was so worth every penny, it's probably the costume that I'm most proud of when it comes to craftsmanship!
Cheapest Costume: Good ol' Kid Sora! I think that costume only cost around $25 to make.
Most Difficult Costume: That was definitely Vanille. I made the costume last year, too, but remaking it was a nightmare!
Easiest Costume: That'd be Pansy Parkinson, considering most of that is official clothing.
Comfiest Costume: It's a tie! Pajama Stocking, because... I mean. They're pajamas. And also Cheryl Mason, because it's a comfy sweater and I don't have to wear shoes~
Most Uncomfortable Costume: Again, Vanille wins. All the beads are so frustrating because they love to slip out of place!
Costume I Wish I Got to Wear More: Fawn. I only got to wear her for a few hours on Friday night of Youmacon, it would've been nice to spend a full day as her.

Favorite Convention: This year, it was Youmacon. Seriously, that weekend was one of the best weekends of my life!
Favorite Cosplay Group: Hrrmmm, I can't choose between our Young Justice group or our My Little Pony group!
Favorite Cosplay Experience: Filming our Panty & Stocking video in downtown Chicago with Ackson! [link] I still get chills when I think about how much fun it was!!
Favorite Cosplay of the Year: Miss Martian. I love being green and I love her so much, I think she's my favorite cosplay I've ever done!

Overall? This year was AMAZING! 2012 is definitely going to have to bring its A-game!

1. What was your first Anime Convention? Youmacon 2007! I only went on Friday and Sunday, I also cosplayed Olette for the first time.
2. What is your current favorite memory from a con and why? Aside from filming the P&S video, my other favorite memory is the Swan Lake Tutu photoshoot that ~zhellyzee and I did with ~Elemental-Sight at Youmacon this year. Actually, just spending time with her as Kraehe and Mytho in general is amazing! ;___; She makes me feel so beautiful and she is the perfect prince and lskjgflhkj I miss you, bb!
3. Which of the Doctor's companions would you be and why? Probably Martha. It's pretty common for me to fall in love with people who don't notice me. 8D
4. Harry Potter or Twilight? HARRY POTTAH.
5. What are two things on your desk (if not at a desk, then closest too you) and why are they important to you? My phone and my laptop. Because I'm a stereotypical tech nerd and would die without them.
6. Current watching addiction? Our whole apartment's been on a How I Met Your Mother kick for the past month.
7. Favorite old time movie? I really love the Beethoven movies, they make me so happy because my little brother and I were obsessed with them when we were growing up. Also, Balto.

My 18th birthday party, because it was Tinkerbell themed and a bunch of my friends came over and we watched Star Trek. 8D Last year was really fun too because *CourtoonXIII, ~AmeZaRain, and I went out for a steak dinner, and ommggggg it was delicious! @_@
10. Currently working on ____? Fanfic, because it's better than studying for finals!
11. What would you most desire to be eating right now? Gingerbread cookies with a mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows. But alas I have neither.

1. Who is your biggest inspiration?
I'm going to be cliche, but my mom is my biggest inspiration. She's such a strong woman, and she's accomplished so much in her life. Before she had me, she was the lead violinist in the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, and now she's an extremely successful real estate appraiser. She's always supportive of everything I choose to pursue, and I know I'll be able to accomplish anything I want to while she's standing behind me.

2.What kind of books do you like to read?
I love horror! My favorite authors are Stephen King and Richard Matheson.

3. Do you game? If yes, what are your favorite games?
RPGs. I wish I could play FPS games, but I can't handle the adrenaline rush I get while playing them. I start shaking and then I can't aim. @_@

4. Do you have any siblings?
Yes I do! I have a little brother, he's a junior in high school right now. I miss him a lot when I'm at school but I'll get to see him next weekend when I go home to visit!

Geometry. It just never clicked for me. I'm a really good math student, I love algebra, but geometry just did NOT make sense to me. (Chemistry, too, most of it was just such an abstract concept that I didn't have any interest in it.)

Scary movies, definitely! Then I love a good action/adventure or fantasy.

Whew! Well, the first week of school is over for me, and man. I'm exhausted! But it's a good kind of exhausted, I'm actually having such a great time this semester! I love all my classes, especially dance and yoga. (...Yes, I go to a legitimate college.)

What I love most though is our apartment of awesome!! I'm living with , , and our other friend Jess. Every night we all watch Supernatural together and lskgjh I just love these girls so much!

Anyway, here's a few quick items of cosplay-related business, which I'm sure you guys care more about than me rambling about school!

1. My Cheryl Mason cosplay has been featured on VisitSilentHill.com [link]! The site is run by one of my cosplay idols, Alessa [link], and it's such a great tribute to the Silent Hill series! If you've never seen the site, definitely go check it out! (My costume is listed on the 'Visitors' page, along with dozens of other amazing Silent Hill cosplayers!)

2. I won the "Represent Arda" contest for September, so for the next two months, my Fawn wig/cosplay is being featured on their website and in their banner ads! Thank you all so, so much for the support, I've never won anything like this before so it's really an honor! ;o; And plus I won a gift card so now I can get my new Ty Lee wig, yaaaay~!

3. *CourtoonXIII, ~AmeZaRain and I did a small Doctor Who/Torchwood photoshoot last weekend in downtown Chicago! I'm sure you've already seen some of the pictures on their pages, but I'll hopefully start posting a few soon too. I wore Gwen, and Courtney and Brandi were Rose and the Tenth Doctor, respectively~ It was sooo much fun, and we even had a few people recognize us when we were walking around!

4. is currently having a HUGE cosplay and anime merchandise sale! There's manga, wigs, plushies, and tons of other stuff, so please spread the word! (All funds go towards good things. Like her Robin cosplay. You know you want that to happen. Ohhh yeah~)

5. Speaking of Youmacon, I'm kind of terrified by how soon it is! It'll be here before we know it - and as per usual I think I'll be rushing to finish stuff at the last minute!

Info on this wig: It's a Jeannie in Spanish Brown 050, styled for the character Fawn from Disney's Pixie Hollow. This was an insanely tricky wig to do, I spent about six or seven hours on it in total! The bun was very challenging, I've never had to do anything like this for a wig before! But I know it wouldn't have been possible without Arda, their wigs are just incredible and I'm completely in love with the Jeannie style! I want one in each and every color!!

I'm sorry that I've been so bad about updating my journal this summer, guys! I've been both really busy... and really lazy. Not a good combination, haha!

This is just going to be a quick post to let you guys know what's up!


1. I move back to Chicago in ten days! I'm so so so excited, this year is going to rock! And I'm really excited to start dancing four days a week again, that'll take some getting used to I'm sure!

2. I'm sorry that I never got around to doing more Ty Lee photoshoots this summer! I've decided that I really want to remake the wig, and fix up both my regular and beach versions of her, so I want to wait to do more pictures until I do all of that. My goal right now is to have all that done for ALA!

3. Speaking of which, our con schedule for the rest of 2011 is as follows:
Youmacon: November 3-6 (Detroit, MI)
Kollision Con: November 18-20 (Pheasant Run, St. Charles, IL)
*Chicago TARDIS November 25-27 (Chicago, IL)

I'm pretty sure we won't actually be going to the Doctor Who con, because it's during Thanksgiving... But it'd be so fun! ;__;

It's so weird to think that summer's already halfway over! Actually... let's not think about it, because that means school starts up again soon!

I hope you guys have been enjoying your vacations! Mine's been great so far - a little uneventful, but totally relaxing, which is really wonderful.

Here's what's new with me!

- I've been devoting most of my free time to working on Kraehe's Odile tutu. It's one of my dream cosplays and I'm having such an amazing experience making it so far! I wish I could share progress pictures with you guys... buuuut I think I'mma keep the whole thing a surprise until Youmacon! Let's just say there's a LOT of seed beads and sequins involved!

- My motivation to work on other costumes... is really lacking. Ughhh. I've bought pretty much everything I'll need for my Youmacon cosplay lineup, but I just haven't wanted to work on anything but Kraehe. Which I guess is okay because it's not an easy costume, but I should really get to work on some other stuff too! @_@ I made some progress on Coat of Arms today, so I guess that's something.

- Somehow I got addicted to Neopets again this week. Habitarium is my liiiife. So if you want to be my Neofriend, my username is hythelia.

- why am i not at san diego comic con ugh ugh ugh look at your life look at your choices

- Speaking of conventions, our next con that my friends and I will be going to is Anime Detroit/Godaikocon in August! Originally we were going to go to Wizard World Chicago, but plans fell through for that. Oh well. We'll be cosplaying as the Young Justice team (well, M'gann, Artemis, and Robin at least) in their civvies. I'm ridiculously excited for it even though they're simple costumes. xD

- I'll be moving back to Chicago on September 3rd. It's weird, but I'm SO pumped to go back! Mainly because I'll be living with three of my favorite people in the world, two of whom are *CourtoonXIII and ~AmeZaRain~! So much love for these girls!

Hey everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your summer so far, goodness knows I am! It's so nice getting to just relax, especially after all the stress of ACEN! I'm still not totally recovered from that last-minute rush to finish everything, but I'm slowly but surely getting back on the cosplay horse~

So here's just a few updates, mostly for my sanity but also 'cause I want to let y'all know what's up!
